ABOUT AMY BARTELLONI

My name is Amy Bartelloni, and I’m honored to run to serve Bellingham as the next Town Clerk, following five years of experience in the Town Clerk’s Office, including time spent as the Assistant Town Clerk.

I’m a proud graduate of Bryant University, with a degree in History & minor in Political Science, and I’ve been passionate about public service and civic engagement since the day I turned 18 and registered to vote. My journey into public service began in college when I interned for State Representative George Peterson. After graduation, I worked for the Massachusetts State Racing Commission, gaining firsthand experience with laws, regulations, and budgeting processes. However, my most important role has been raising my three wonderful children in Bellingham, where I’ve lived for 25 years.

In addition to raising my family, I’ve remained deeply involved in our community. As an author of seven published young adult novels, I co-founded a writer’s group at the Bellingham Library, which has been active for seven years. Encouraging creativity and fostering community engagement are values I hold dear.

Beyond writing, I served for nine years on the Library Board of Trustees, participated in numerous PTOs, and volunteered regularly in my children's schools. As a longtime reporter for the Bellingham Bulletin, I gained invaluable insight into the inner workings of town government and the issues that matter most to our community.

In 2019, I joined the Town Clerk’s office part-time and quickly became deeply involved in election administration. I helped oversee the unprecedented 2020 presidential election during the COVID-19 pandemic, successfully implementing and maintaining a mail-in voting system that had never existed before. I carried that experience into the 2024 election cycle, where I helped manage four elections. During a particularly challenging time—while navigating a personal family health crisis—I remained committed to ensuring the integrity of our electoral process, processing 3,000 mail-in ballot applications without missing a single step.

I have extensive training in election administration, the state voter system, and vital records, as well as the daily licensing systems we rely on to keep our town running smoothly. I am a Notary Public and a registered Justice of the Peace, and I believe in treating everyone with respect, dignity, and professionalism. If I don’t know the answer to a problem, I know where to find it.

After much thought and reflection, I’ve decided to seek election as Bellingham’s Town Clerk. While I’m passionate about politics and deeply committed to our town, I’m not partisan by nature—I’m dedicated to fairness, competence, and service. I’ve worked hard to uphold the responsibilities of the office with integrity and efficiency. Now, I’m asking for your support in June to continue serving our community.

I would be honored to earn your vote and the opportunity to continue working for the residents of Bellingham. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns—I’d love to hear from you.
